Health Factor - The Antidote for Stress

The antidote for stress may currently be the most important health factor as modern medical scientists have determined that over 90% of all health disorders are associated with stress. Let's face it that's a huge number!

We all want to enjoy good health and avoid disease; yet today folks have enormous amounts of stress in their lives which means that they are at risk.

Given this set of circumstances it is essential that you know the antidote for stress to help protect yourself from all those possible disorders, and to know what to do about any over-stressed situation that you may be experiencing.

First please be clear that you do need some stress in your life as it stimulates growth. The old adage 'if you don't use it; you will lose it' is true.

The real demon is over-stress.

What is Stress?

The easiest way to understand what stress is, is experiential. Exercise is stressful; you place demands on your body-mind when you exercise your body, your mind, and any other aspect of your being. When your exercise in performed in a healthy, balanced way you enjoy the benefits of having stimulates growth through your activities.

What is Over-Stress?

Over-Stress is obvious; it is being stress-out. Experientially, it always shows up as more and more pressure and strain, and, less and less Space.

Since over-stress is less and less Space then the antidote for this kind of stress is Space.

OK so how do you realize more Space?

There are four ways that you experience space:

1)when all your obligations and responsibilities have been fulfilled and you have leisure time.

2)when you go on vacation and all your obligations and responsibilities are either put on hold or handled by someone else for a while.

3)where you are calm in the midst of activity; this is like being in the eye of a hurricane; there is lots of activity going on around you, yet you are in a space of tranquility.

4)where you allow yourself to be so absorbed by the current of something that you are focused on that you no longer experience the passage of time. In this way you are absent which means that space is present.

Now that you see that there are two forms of Space that are localized as: a) leisure time and b) tranquility in the midst of activity; and that there are two forms of Space that you experience more globally as: a) going on vacation and b) allowing yourself to be so fully absorbed in something that you are absent...

Is there a factor that is common to all four forms of Space?

Yes. Relaxation.

Relaxation is the Antidote for Stress. Thus proper Relaxation is the health factor that can help you avoid over 90% of all health disorders.
